Why do citations matter more on Perplexity?
Perplexity shows its sources prominently. Source links can point to directories, review sites or local articles worth checking. A link does not prove that a page caused the recommendation or that your business needs to be listed there.

How do I get my own website cited?
- Allow PerplexityBot in robots.txt.
- Put your main answer in text near the top of each page: what you do, where, and for whom.

Does Perplexity always search the web?
Perplexity documents its search crawler, but whether a given answer used a live search is not something you can assume. AIRank records the citations each answer actually returned.
