Which OpenAI crawler should I allow?
OpenAI documents separate crawlers for separate jobs. OAI-SearchBot is used for search features, so it is the one that matters for being found in ChatGPT answers. GPTBot collects data for model training, and blocking it is a separate business decision that does not remove you from ChatGPT search. ChatGPT-User fetches pages when a user asks ChatGPT to, and robots.txt may not apply to it.

What should I review if ChatGPT leaves out my business?
- Their pages name the service and the city plainly, so they match the question.
- They appear on the directories and review sites ChatGPT cites for your category.
- Check whether business names, addresses and phone numbers are consistent across your website and listings.
- Your site blocks OAI-SearchBot, or your key information is only in images or scripts.
